The State of Event Pricing

Most published event “averages” are unsourced. This report is the opposite: every figure below is a machine-verified public price, each linked to its original source. It is a live snapshot of what Picnyk has independently confirmed — including where the evidence is still thin and a direct quote is required.

Each estimate is generated by the Picnyk Event Cost Model and cross-checked against machine-verified public price observations; every published local price links to its original source with an access date. See how we verify pricing.

Verified median prices by category

A median and range are published only where at least three independent sources and four numeric observations exist for that category — the same anti-thin-data gate used on our city cost pages. The range shows the typical band (25th–75th percentile), so a single outlier cannot distort it. Figures are what venues and vendors publicly disclose, not Picnyk estimates.

Best-documented markets

Confidence is an evidence-coverage score, not a forecast-accuracy claim: it rises with independent sources, documented categories, and recent reviews. These markets carry the most verified local evidence today.

How we built this

Every observation begins as a public price disclosed by a venue, vendor, or government source. We fetch the original page, verify the quoted figure against it, and record an access date. Prices that cannot be reproduced from their source are held as review-required and never counted here. Medians are computed only from verified numeric observations, and a category is published only when independent sources corroborate it. This is a coverage report — it says how well a price is documented, not that any single event will match it.
