Vendor verification standards
Picnyk requires every vendor to complete identity, business, and insurance verification, plus a background check, before their profile is approved and visible to customers. A vendor who has not cleared this process cannot accept a booking on the platform.
Identity verification
Every vendor confirms who they are with a government-issued ID before their profile can go live on the marketplace.
Business verification
We confirm the business behind the profile is real and legitimate before it can list services or accept bookings.
Insurance documentation
Vendors upload proof of liability insurance, which is reviewed as part of onboarding and kept on file for every active listing.
Background checks
A background check is a required step before a vendor account is approved to take bookings on Picnyk.
How your booking is protected
Verification does not stop once a vendor is approved. Here is what protects you as a customer from the moment you book through the day of your event.
Payments held securely
All payments are processed through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number, and funds are only released to vendors per our booking terms.
Reviews from real bookings
Ratings and reviews are tied to completed bookings on the platform, so you’re seeing feedback from people who actually hired the vendor.
Report a vendor or listing
If something looks off — a listing, a message, or a vendor’s conduct — you can flag it and our team will review it directly.
Ongoing compliance review
Vendor documentation is reviewed on an ongoing basis, not just at signup. If a vendor's insurance lapses, their background check status changes, or a customer reports a concern, our team re-reviews that vendor's standing and can suspend a listing while it is investigated.
See something concerning?
Report a vendor, a listing, or any conduct that violates our standards. Our team reviews every report directly — this is not an automated queue.
